3rd class: Dissolving experiment

In 3rd class, we investigated a variety of powders to see if they would dissolve in water.

Before we tested the powders we predicted what our results might be.

We also discussed how to make sure that the test was fair. We made sure that the temperature of the water, the amount of water, the amount of powder and the time spent stirring was the same for each test.

Some of the results surprised us. When we tested the coffee we all thought it would dissolve but it didn't because we tested coffee grounds instead of instant coffee.

Some substances are soluble (they will dissolve) and some are insoluble (they won't dissolve).

We had so much fun.
