5th Class Tour to West Cork Secret

On Friday 4th of June, 5th Class took the short trip over to Kilbrittain to West Cork Secret for the day. What an unforgettable day of fun was had, and no more than the students deserved after many long months of excellent work in class!

First, the students played team-building games, including this water relay using drain pipes. The aim was to fill a bucket at the end of the line with water as quickly as possible, working together to pass it through a series of pipes. As you can imagine, some people got wet!

Next up was some high-octane go-karting, with both teams competing against one another for the most points!

One of the favourite activities of the day was milking these two cows, Betsy and Maisy, to see which team would be crowned the best milkers!

The best fun was saved for after breaktime, however, as the class took on the three challenging muddy obstacle courses. A dramatic change from our normal Friday morning routine in the classroom! Everyone was covered in mud and smiling, as you can see!

Everyone gave their best shot to be crowned the muddiest person at the end of the obstacle courses...

After this came the highlight of the day - the mud slide!

Everyone tried their level best to make it all the way to the mud pond at the end of the slide - it took a lot of technique to get there!

After getting covered in mud from head to toe, it was time to hit the outdoor showers and get changed, after which some delicious homemade pizza was waiting for everyone, fresh from the wood-fired pizza ovens.

We still had one last activity to fit in before heading back to school, however - some orienteering in teams around the beautiful woods on site. Mr Ross stumbled across these students wandering through the woods looking for a marker!

A great day was had by all, and as we returned back to school at 3 o'clock, everyone was exhausted but very happy! Credit to the students in 5th class for their excellent behaviour and cooperation throughout the day on tour. They made the most of the opportunity and had a blast.
