Task 3: Weeding the flower beds

18th April. We weeded the flowerbeds to get ready for transplanting the potatoes and the strawberries. Yvonne dug out the thistles with her fork and Ms Coghlan dug a hole to transplant the plants into. She turned the put upside down and took the potatoes out of the pot. Then she broke up the soil so each potato plant was separate. She showed them to us and then transplanted it into the ground. Finally she patted the soil gently around the plants and we watered them to help them root in the new soil. The strawberries were in a pot too. She turned them upside and separated the plants. Then Sonja put the plants into the holes and patted the earth around them. Then we watered them. Hopefully they will grow quickly.
