Task 4: Cooking 2nd Class: Traditional Recipes for Brown Soda Bread and White Soda Scones

These are two traditional recipes from Granny's cookbook. They are for Brown Soda Bread and White Soda scones. These traditional recipes are so old they even have pounds and ounces instead of kilograms and grams.

Step 1: Weigh the flour, salt and bread soda.

Step 2: Sieve the flour, salt and bread Soda into a bowl. Add sugar in and stir.

Step 3: Weigh the margarine. Cut up into small pieces. Rub the margarine into the flour using your finger tips.

Step 4: Add milk slowly into the flour. Knead the dough.

Step 5: Flatten the dough. Cut out scones.

Step 6: Cover your baking tray with greaseproof paper. Place the scones on the paper.

Step 7: Preheat the oven to mark 5. Place the tray into the oven for 20 min.

Step 6: Remove the tray from the oven when the scones are golden brown.
