VEX Finals Success for 5th Class!
On Wednesday 18th January, 5th Class competed in the VEX Regional Final in MTU, Cork, along with 14 other Cork schools.

This was the culmination of months of hard work on their VEX Project, and this incredible effort was recognised when they won the Judges' Award at the prizegiving.

The Judges Award is presented to a team that the Judges determine is deserving of special recognition. Judges consider a number of possible criteria for this award, such as team displays of special attributes, exemplary effort and perseverance at the event, or team accomplishments or endeavours throughout the season.

Matthew and Rohan were the chosen drivers of the robot for the day, and they excelled in their roles. They hit their personal best score at the finals of 74, with the whole crowd watching on! An amazing performance under pressure. The whole class cheered them on and chanted “BB Robotics! BB Robotics!” in the final match.

Here is a video of the Teamwork Challenge Final where Matthew And Rohan worked with Strawberry Hill School. They got an amazing score of 101 together!
Conner and George were tasked with programming the robot, and they posted the best programming score of the day – an incredible achievement!

During the day, judges came to conduct a team interview. They asked many questions of the students about the whole robot design process, and how the class worked as a team to solve problems and achieve their goals. Here is a picture of them speaking to the judges:
