In January, 5th class travelled to the Regional VEX competition in MIT. Michael and Jack were the drivers that represented 5th class. They made their Robot with their team of Abi. Kinga and Adam which they used to take on the Relay and Skills competitions.

The team worked hard to keep their robot up to code and when it came to inspection, prior to the challenges our robot passed inspection with no issues.

There was a practice arena that the drivers practised in while waiting for their turn to compete. They worked worked collaboratively with other children to take on theses challenges. All the robots were quite different so no two rounds were the same.

In the skills rounds, Michael and Jack set high standards for themselves to score points by placing the ball in the goal. We finished just outside of the top three teams. Very impressive. We made it to the regional finals and finished joint second place. The boys manged a great passing strategy with the other team to score a great number of points.

The drivers were very impressive on the day and fifth class were highly supportive of the team that represented the class. Well done 5th class.
