On Tuesday 22nd October at 10:45 we started to walk to Bandon Library to hear an author called Caroline Busher who writes historical fiction for children.
We went to the back of the library where Caroline was already waiting for us. She had a mystery bag. It was a bag full of props and artefacts which she asked different children to pick from and she told us a story related to these.
Max in our class was selected. Max picked a hard plastic and furry spider. She had a story about the spider. In the olden days a cure for sickness was to eat a spider. She spoke about different superstitions.
Next Caroline showed us three pictures – a girl flying a goose, a girl in a forest, a man holding onto a chimney. She asked us to pick one of these characters and write a story about them and some of us read our stories out to the class.
Liadh in our class had her library card and was able to borrow two of Caroline'
s books.
We enjoyed meeting her as she interesting and very nice. We spent a few minutes looking at other books in the library before walking back to school.
We had fun.
